Branden first started riding horses when he was 5 years old. He started competing in rodeos and 4-H competitions by age 8. He has competed in cloverleaf and straight away barrels, pole bending, and goat tying as a boy. He has shown horses in reining and rail classes as an adult.
He has been teaching adults and children since 2000. Numerous students have gone on to compete in college or at a higher level of competition or found jobs in the equine industry.
Branden is a member of AQHA’s professional horseman. He has completed course work at Ohio State University and Colorado State University in mare management and reproduction and has a Bachelor’s degree from UTSA in business management. He spent a year running a hunter jumper barn prior to spending 3 years as a breeding-foaling manager/ colt trainer.
All of these experiences add to Branden’s overall knowledge of the horse and the industry. Branden is an enthusiastic, hands on instructor who focuses on teaching people the proper way to ride in order for them to go on to competition, show or trail/pleasure riding. |
Madalyn, who also goes by Mady, has a passion for horses since she was very little. Inspired by her aunt she continued down a path of barrel racing when her father finally got her and her twin sister their first horses. She barrel raced through high school. When Mady went to Flagstaff, Arizona to go to college at Northern Arizona University for photography and advertising she took a break to focus on her studies. After graduating early with the two majors she was anxious to get to Texas to be with her twin sister again and get back in the saddle. Now, Mady has her horse Reckless and Wild a.k.a. Reckless that she enjoys riding and competing on in addition to her photography. She has won money competing on barrels but hope that one day she will win a buckle like her twin sister has. Madalyn is very excited to be the new addition to the Diamond C Stables teaching beginner and intermediate people and kids.
Working with students that are at the beginner, intermediate, and barrel racing students will be fun and an exciting challenge. The basics and fundamentals are very important because the faster you go the less time you have to think about each move you make.
Mady is excited to share everything she knows and help the students in every way possible so they can achieve their goals! |
Alex was bitten by the “horse bug” at a very young age and still has that passion. She started with English riding at the age of 7 and began to focus on jumping until she came to Diamond C and finally decided to see what Western riding is all about. She loves being around horses, whether it’s riding brushing or just being around them, and they are frequently the subjects of her artwork, especially her horse Cainan who has been a good teacher for her on horse care and above all patience.
Alex is currently pursuing a degree in Architecture and has been teaching at Diamond C as well. She has experience working with young children thanks to a job she had working at a daycare for a few years. She focuses on trying to find creative and fun ways for kids to easily learn essential riding skills so that they will be ready to continue on to whatever type of riding they’d like to do. She believes it is very important to not try to dominate your horse, and that you will greatly benefit from learning to be a versatile rider who pays attention to the type of horse you are riding and become its teammate instead. |
